Lustrous and incredibly warm
Two and a half years in the making, the first sweaters from our Brattland wool project were available to buy in November 2017. Instigated to see if we could make wool sweaters in Sweden with Brattland wool, the project shed light on more than just the challenges of wool traceability. We’ve learned more about wool quality, holistic farming benefits and craftsmanship than we thought possible. And we’re taking what we’ve learned and transferring it to our global wool supply chain.
Our Brattland wool comes from Jämtlandsfår, a Swedish breed adapted to the cool, challenging climate of central Sweden. The wool is incredibly fine, lustrous and, like all wool, resists dirt and odour, and regulates body temperature.
The sheep are raised at Brattlandsgården, a holistic management farm just outside Åre in the Swedish mountains. The untreated wool is spun and the products are knitted right here in Sweden.
Our Brattland wool project is something we’re pretty proud of. But the journey getting there wasn’t exactly obstacle free
