MULTI-DAY TREKKING FOR EVERYONE - Fjällräven Classic

Fjällräven Classic 2025

Fjällräven Classic, Fjällräven’s largest global event, returns in 2025 with seven treks across four continents from July to December. Taking place in Denmark, Sweden, Germany, the UK, the USA, Korea, and Chile, each will welcome curious trekkers with a unique blend of terrain, climate, flora, fauna, and culture.

In these local environments, Fjällräven Classic gives participants from around the world the chance to live the brand’s mission of enabling people to spend more time in nature. As they explore and interact with nature, participants learn to appreciate it, respect it, and care for it – ultimately leaving nature in better shape than they found it.

A brief history of an iconic event

Sweden’s far north is a vast rugged wilderness. Stretching thousands of kilometres, the terrain is rough, the weather is changeable, and signs of civilization are few and far between.

The dramatic landscapes and breathtaking scenery were always a source of inspiration for Fjällräven founder, Åke Nordin. As a young nature enthusiast, he spent every spare moment in the forest and often set off on week-long treks into the heart of the north. There he developed ideas and hatched plans to create better, more functional, outdoor equipment.

Åke always wanted others who didn’t have immediate access to nature to experience what gave him so much purpose. Most importantly, he wanted people to experience the feeling of freedom offered by trekking for a few days. So, in 1979, Åke started what was then called ‘Fjällräven Weeks’. It was the first step in taking curious beginners out into nature, lending them equipment, and showing them how to use it.

In 2005, Fjällräven went a step further and removed many of the logistical and emotional barriers of the legendary, long-distance Kungsleden Trail in Sweden. This style of trek was the Fjällräven Classic as we know it today. Soon, Swedish trekkers were joined by people from all around the world and the success prompted Fjällräven to extend Fjällräven Classic and Swedish trekking culture to other countries. The rest is trekking history.
